Baseball Recap: Halifax Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ridgecroft last Monday, Halifax Academy came back down to earth. Halifax Academy fell 6-2 to Brunswick Academy on Friday. Vikings fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Brunswick Academy since on Friday.

Halifax Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Bennett, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Bennett a new career-high.

Halifax Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brunswick Academy, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Halifax Academy will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Rocky Mount Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brunswick Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fuqua at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The match will give Brunswick Academy their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
