Basketball Game Preview: Burrillville Broncos vs. North Providence Cougars

The Burrillville Broncos will venture away from home to take on the North Providence Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Burrillville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.

Burrillville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They strolled past Coventry with points to spare, taking the game 78-60. The win continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Oakers: they've now won four in a row.

Burrillville found their leader in sophomore Sean Zanella, who went 12-for-17 en route to 30 points. Zanella's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Alton Kelley was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, North Providence faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. North Providence lost to Barrington on the road by a 64-50 margin. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Burrillville's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for North Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-2.

Burrillville couldn't quite finish off North Providence when the teams last played last Monday and fell 69-67. Can Burrillville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
