Baseball Recap: Idaho Falls Victorious

Idaho Falls posted their closest win since April 25, 2024 on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Shelley Russets 7-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 on Thursday.

Idaho Falls got a great performance from Anyelo Rodriguez as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Rodriguez a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Cammack, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Tegan Sorenson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Idaho Falls is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Shelley, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
