Volleyball Game Preview: Loveland Red Wolves vs. Pine Creek Eagles

The Loveland Red Wolves will face off against the Pine Creek Eagles at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Loveland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Mountain Vista, who was ranked 24th at the time (Loveland was ranked 22nd). The Red Wolves skirted past the Golden Eagles 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Wolves.

Loveland wouldn't go down easily and took Mountain Vista into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Pine Creek extended their postseason success on Saturday against Monarch. They put the hurt on the Coyotes with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pine Creek took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-15.

Loveland better keep an eye on Saydie Rexroth. She was instrumental in Pine Creek's win, getting three digs and two aces.

Loveland's record is now 20-5. As for Pine Creek, their record now sits at 19-6.

Loveland couldn't quite get it done against Pine Creek in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Red Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
