Softball Recap: Stroudsburg Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Stroudsburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Pen Argyl Green Knights 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Green Knights: they've now won five in a row.

Jordan Cook spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Elizabeth Molinaro was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Morgan Callender was another key player, earning two runs and two stolen bases.

Stroudsburg's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pen Argyl, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

Looking ahead, Stroudsburg will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pen Argyl, they will be playing at home against Northwestern Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
