New Bern stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They put the hurt on the Riverside-Durham Pirates with a sharp 9-2 win. Winning may never get old, but New Bern sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Molly McGuire made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). McGuire has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive pitching appearances. McGuire was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.
