Basketball Game Preview: Pearl City Wolves vs. Durand Bulldogs

Pearl City hasn't had much luck against Durand recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Both will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:00 p.m. Durand took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Pearl City, who comes in off a win.

Pearl City took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They claimed a resounding 64-34 victory over Ashton-Franklin Center. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Durand had to suffer through a 74-39 loss at the hands of Marian Central Catholic.

Pearl City pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Durand, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Pearl City beat Durand 57-44 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Durand's Ethan Rager, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds.
