Sand Creek put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gateway Olympians 48-6. With the Scorpions ahead 41-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Ethan Mangrum had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 276 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Those 276 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Mangrum was just one part of a punishing run game: Sand Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 433 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 17 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Sand Creek's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Gateway, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Sand Creek will square off against Centaurus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gateway, they will take on Thornton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Olympians will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
