Baseball Recap: South Walton Now 22-1 over Last 23 Games

South Walton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Hernando Leopards on Monday as they made off with a 17-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Seahawks, who have now won 22 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Denton Lord looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, South Walton got a massive performance out of Charlie Willcox, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Willcox has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Hudson Quinn, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

South Walton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .654. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

South Walton is on a roll lately: they've won 22 of their last 23 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 20-16.

As of now, neither South Walton nor the Leopards have any future games scheduled.
