Basketball Game Preview: Powers Catholic Chargers vs. Schoolcraft Eagles

The Powers Catholic Chargers will head out to take on the Schoolcraft Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Powers Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Powers Catholic will head into Friday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big back in December of 2024 (they won by 40) and two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Richard, sneaking past 69-66. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since January 26, 2024.

It was another big night for Andrew Caldwell, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Dempsey Cull was another key player, putting up 15 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Schoolcraft, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged Olivet out 46-43. The 46-point effort marked Schoolcraft's lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Powers Catholic's record now sits at 7-0. As for Schoolcraft, their record is now 6-2.

Powers Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Schoolcraft in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 61-48. Will Powers Catholic repeat their success, or does Schoolcraft have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
