Softball Recap: Mount Desert Island Comes Up Short

Hampden hit Mount Desert Island with a five-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Broncos, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Trojans have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Mount Desert Island saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Lawson, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Mount Desert Island and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Hampden, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Mount Desert Island will host John Bapst Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hampden, they will head out on the road to face off against Camden Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
