Softball Preview: DuQuoin Indians vs. Waltonville Spartans

The DuQuoin Indians will play host again on Thursday to welcome the Waltonville Spartans, where first pitch is scheduled at 4:30 p.m. DuQuoin is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, DuQuoin beat Harrisburg 7-4. The victory was just what DuQuoin needed coming off of a 12-5 loss in their prior matchup.

Madison Lee and Ellie Searby did most of the damage at the plate: Lee scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Searby went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Waters, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Waltonville fell victim to a tough 11-1 defeat at the hands of Salem on Wednesday. Waltonville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

DuQuoin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Waltonville, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.
