Baseball Game Preview: Harrisonville Wildcats vs. Lincoln College Prep Blue Tigers

The Harrisonville Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Lincoln College Prep Blue Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrisonville has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harrisonville will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Holden on Wednesday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 14-11. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Tigers have posted since April 16, 2024.

Everett Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on nine hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaleb Smith, who scored two runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Cooper Burton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Lincoln College Prep's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Harrisonville, their record is now 5-1.

Harrisonville couldn't quite finish off Lincoln College Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
