Concord hasn't had much luck against Warsaw recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Concord Minutemen will welcome the Warsaw Tigers at 3:30 p.m.
Last Saturday, Concord came up short against Plymouth and fell 41-30.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Shiloh Smith, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Emerick, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Warsaw, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They breezed by Tippecanoe Valley to the tune of 70-25 on Thursday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Concord better keep an eye on Brooke Winchester. She was instrumental in Warsaw's win, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 15 rebounds. Winchester is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Brooke Zartman was another key player, going 5 of 7 en route to 14 points and three steals.
Warsaw's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.6 points. As for Concord, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Concord has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Warsaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
