Volleyball Recap: Centauri Falcons vs. Pueblo East Eagles
Centauri's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Pueblo East Eagles 3-2. While the Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Centauri got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 18-25, 26-24, 24-26, 15-7.
Kynlei Curtis paced Centauri's offense, picking up 15 kills. Curtis got some help from Kenadie Wilfong and her 28 assists. Joselyn McCarroll and Kimbry Wilfong kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with five aces apiece.
Centauri has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Pueblo East, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Centauri wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Pagosa Springs on the 20th. As for Pueblo East, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Pueblo Central on the 23rd.
