Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Panthers vs. Rockledge Raiders

Heritage is 1-9 against Rockledge since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Panthers will face off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Heritage couldn't beat Bayside on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Panthers fell just short of the Bears by a score of 8-7.

Kethziel Torres put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Torres was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Jose Velez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Rockledge lost 9-3 to Melbourne on Friday.

Heritage's record is now 1-1. As for Rockledge, their record now sits at an identical 1-1.

Heritage got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 against Rockledge by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
