After losing to Springfield Southeast the last time they met, MacArthur decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Generals had just enough and edged out the Spartans 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Generals have posted against the Spartans since September 24, 2019.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day MacArthur got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Springfield Southeast lost on Thursday, don't look at Parker Maxey. Despite the final result, she had 21 assists and five digs. Maxey is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Springfield Southeast, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

MacArthur has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Highland on the 20th. As for Springfield Southeast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Carlinville on the 19th.
