Laurel-Concord-Coleridge strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Wood River Eagles by a score of 2-0. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16.

Rena Rasmussen paced Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's offense, picking up ten kills. Rasmussen got some help from Carlie Kvols and her 14 assists. Hattie Mccorkindale and Tyler Recob kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Despite the loss, Wood River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tenley Gewecke had four digs and two aces. Lorelei Dethloff also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Wood River, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Boone Central on the 20th. As for Wood River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Central City on the 20th.
