Basketball Game Preview: Columbia vs. Community Health Academy

Columbia will head out on the road to square off against Community Health Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Columbia took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged City College Academy of the Arts out 55-53.

Meanwhile, Community Health Academy entered their tilt with Esperanza Preparatory Academy on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Eagles 93-35. That 58 point margin sets a new team best for Community Health Academy this season.

Community Health Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 86.0 points per game. As for Columbia, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Columbia was dealt a bruising 86-35 loss at the hands of Community Health Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Columbia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
