Volleyball Recap: Howell Takes a Loss

Howell was the 2-0 winner over Edwardsville when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Saturday.

Howell's offense was headlined by Matthew Cook and Remy Walkowiak, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Thomas Thoman and his 17 assists.

Edwardsville was led to victory by Nicholas Paschall and Lucas Marsh. Paschall had 12 assists and five digs, while Marsh had five assists and three digs. That's the most digs Marsh has posted over his last seven matches.

Howell has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for Edwardsville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-11.

Howell has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against De Smet Jesuit on the 3rd. As for Edwardsville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Althoff Catholic on the 6th.
