Volleyball Recap: Pine Island Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Triton, Pine Island was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Athletics: they've now won eight in a row.

Pine Island never let Lyle/Pacelli on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-23.

Lyle/Pacelli's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Carleigh Rymer, who had 15 digs and two aces, and Autumn Drennan, who had 17 assists. Drennan has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more assists the last four times she's played.

The victory got Pine Island back to even at 1-1. As for Lyle/Pacelli, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Pine Island has already played their next match (against Wabasha-Kellogg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lyle/Pacelli, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Plainview-Elgin-Millville on the 23rd.
