King Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 44-22 margin over the Wardlaw Academy Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Knights have posted against the Patriots since August 26, 2022.

King Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joseph Morse, who rushed for 130 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. Morse's longest rush was for an impressive 59 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Hutto, who threw for 103 yards and two TDs on only five passes.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King Academy will host Orangeburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wardlaw Academy, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Laurens Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
