Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr. Dazzles in Irmo Victory

Irmo picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Aaron (Aj) Brand Jr.. River Bluff had no answer to Brand Jr. as he rushed for 210 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 120 yards while completing 75% of his passes. Those 210 rushing yards gave Brand Jr. a new career-high.

Unfortunately for River Bluff, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Brand Jr. When Brand Jr. last faced the Gators back in September of 2023, he threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown.

Tanner Short Turns in Season-Best Performance

On Friday, Chapin had to settle for second even though Tanner Short put up the best numbers he has all season. Short picked up two sacks and made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Short is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against River Bluff on Friday. When Short last faced the Gators back in October of 2023, he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Dutch Fork Wins 14th-Straight Thanks to Maurice Anderson

Maurice Anderson's big game helped extend Dutch Fork's winning streak to 14 on Friday. Anderson wasn't messing around, rushing for 81 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 68 receiving yards and a touchdown. The game was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns dating back to last season.

Dutch Fork's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Anderson and Dutch Fork will head out on the road to square off against Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Big Game from Martin As Chapin Fell 33-32

Cole Martin posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 59 receiving yards.

For the year, Martin has averaged 45.1 receiving yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 5.71 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 80.86 rushing yards.

Ethan Offing was instrumental in extending Dutch Fork's winning streak to 14 on Friday. Offing was dynamite, rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 202 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2023.

On the season, Offing has thrown 11 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 212.8 passing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had two passing touchdowns.
