Softball Game Preview: Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans vs. Heritage Hawks

The Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans will head out to face off against the Heritage Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] will be strutting in after a victory while Heritage will be coming in after a defeat.

Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Cerro Gordo/Bement with a sharp 13-5 win on Thursday. The Titans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 7, 2024.

Shaylun Christenberry made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Christenberry was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shelby Johnson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rylee Hill, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 22-7 to Arcola.

Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland]'s victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything went Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland]'s way against Heritage in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] made off with a 16-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
