Basketball Recap: Lemoore Tigers vs. Dinuba Emperors
After flying high against the Mission Oak Hawks last Tuesday, the Lemoore Tigers came back down to earth. Lemoore took a hard 63-49 fall against the Emperors on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lemoore of the 69-63 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Lemoore lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kobe Green, who scored 11 points along with six assists and four steals. Green hasn't dropped below four steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Lopes, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Lemoore's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Dinuba, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 23-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lemoore will take on the Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Tulare Western will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while the Tigers are ranked 284th). As for Dinuba, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the The Tribe at 7:15 p.m. Tulare Union knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully the Emperors like a good challenge.
