Softball Recap: Mt. Vernon Marauders vs. Fishers Tigers

After flying high against Delta last Monday, Mt. Vernon came back down to earth. The Mt. Vernon Marauders fell just short of the Fishers Tigers by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. Mt. Vernon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fishers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Easton Wampler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-4 with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsley Baer, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

On Fishers' side, Brooke Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, and a double. Azstryd Alexander was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Mt. Vernon has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
