Soccer Game Preview: White County vs. Lumpkin County

The White County Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the Lumpkin County Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: White County has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Lumpkin County will arrive with four straight victories.

White County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against North Hall on Friday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 1-0. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Warriors couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Lumpkin County kept a clean sheet against Chestatee on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the War Eagles as they made off with an 8-0 win. Considering the Indians have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lumpkin County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those six games. As for White County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
