Baseball Game Preview: Crosbyton Chiefs vs. Lubbock T Titans

The Crosbyton Chiefs will face off against the Lubbock T Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Crosbyton will be strutting in after a victory while Lubbock T will be coming in after a loss.

Crosbyton will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Petersburg on Tuesday. The Chiefs were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Buffaloes. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Chiefs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Miah Marquez spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nolan Salazar, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Reyes, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Lubbock T was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 10-0 to Midland Classical Academy. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Titans haven't been shut out since back in February.

Lubbock T's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Crosbyton, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.
