Football Recap: Fort Bend Elkins Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Fort Bend Elkins lost against Dawson back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Knights took a hard 38-21 fall against the Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Eagles are ranked 199th).

David Red threw for 75 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Saxon Gumabong was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards.

Dawson had a senior duo take command as Luke Brown rushed for 112 yards and a pair of scores and Gregory Earl rushed for 68 yards and two TDs on only eight carries.

Fort Bend Elkins' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Dawson, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Fort Bend Elkins wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 28-13 victory against Alief Hastings on the 11th. As for Dawson, they have also already played their next game, a 26-0 win against Dobie on the 12th.
