Basketball Recap: Vernon Hills Takes a Loss

Vernon Hills lost against Maine South back in January of 2017 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vernon Hills Cougars took a 45-28 bruising from the Maine South Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while the Hawks are ranked 26th).

Vernon Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Maine South, their win bumped their record up to 22-9.

Coming up, Vernon Hills will take on Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on February 18th. Maine South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
