Soccer Recap: Oxford Takes a Loss

After flying high against White Plains last Thursday, Oxford came back down to earth. The Yellow Jackets came up short against the Mountain Brook Spartans on Tuesday, falling 4-0. Oxford were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than four goals in the four games prior), but Mountain Brook's defense proved too tough.

Oxford's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8-1. As for Mountain Brook, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oxford will venture away from home to square off against Pell City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Brook, they will head out to challenge Springville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
