Baseball Recap: St. Frederick Takes a Loss

St. Frederick lost against Alexandria on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Frederick Warriors fell just short of the Alexandria Trojans by a score of 4-3. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

CULLEN MCCARTHY was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, St. Frederick saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was OWEN ONEILL, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

St. Frederick now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Alexandria, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

While St. Frederick had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
