Softball Recap: Limestone Comes Up Short

Limestone fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Canton on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Little Giants by a score of 2-1. The Rockets just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

KENLEY GRAHAM spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Limestone's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Canton, their record now sits at 12-9.

Limestone and Canton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Rockets will square off against East Peoria at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (349 vs. 9). Meanwhile, Canton (ranked 144th) will meet Washington (ranked 15th) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
