 Sherwood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-4  win over the Wootton Patriots. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sherwood also won the last time the pair played  on April 5th.
  Corey Rowell` looked comfortable as he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Liam Irving, who  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while going 4-for-5. He has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Tyler Seils, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Sherwood pushed their record up to 11-2 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. As for Wootton, they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-9.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sherwood will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Poolesville at 3:45  p.m. Sherwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1  runs per game  this season, so Poolesville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Wootton, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Clarksburg at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday.
