Piper put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Plantation Colonels a 12-0 shutout. The Bengals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Joseph Cuminale, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Demetrius Angeletos was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Piper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .409 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Piper has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. Plantation's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piper will head out to face off against Boyd Anderson at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Boyd Anderson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Piper will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Plantation, they are taking a road trip to challenge Coral Glades at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
