Volleyball Game Preview: Cornell Chiefs vs. New Auburn Trojans

The Cornell Chiefs will venture away from home to square off against the New Auburn Trojans at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times Cornell and Flambeau have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Chiefs lost 3-0 to the Falcons.

Cornell was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-13, 25-22.

Meanwhile, New Auburn waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with 15 straight wins... but they left with 16. Everything went their way against the Red Raiders as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: New Auburn took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-15, 25-8.

New Auburn's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Cornell, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Cornell might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from New Auburn when the teams last played back in September. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
