Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Billingsley). Everything went their way against the Marion Rams on Thursday as the Billingsley Bears made off with a 21-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won seven games in a row.

Danny Boice was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Boice was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Kyle Boice was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Billingsley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .682. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Billingsley's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Marion, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Billingsley will take on Westminster School at Oak Mountain in a tournament on Monday. Marion will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Maplesville at 4:00 p.m. on April 1st.
