Braxton County is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a blow against East Fairmont, falling 35-6. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Despite the loss, Braxton County saw an underclassman step up: Logn Payne rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown. Payne was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.

Braxton County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Roane County, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Braxton County took a serious blow against Roane County in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, falling 54-7. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Braxton County was down 48-0.
