Soccer Game Preview: Hayfield vs. Lewis

The Hayfield Hawks will face off against the Lewis Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

If Lewis heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Hayfield took over last week. The Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against Falls Church on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that Hayfield have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Lewis rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Athletics. The victory was nothing new for Lewis as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sam Valle Reyes and Snyder Mendoza Chavarria scored both of Lewis' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Lewis' win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Hayfield, the victory got them back to even at 6-6-2.
