Crown Point is a perfect 10-0 against Michigan City since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Wolves at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
On Friday, Crown Point made easy work of Morgan Township and carried off a 21-1 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Logan Cotton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Cotton was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Riley Ackerman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Billy Chidsey was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Linus Chariton was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and five RBI.
Crown Point always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wolves on Friday. Michigan City blew past Hammond Central 14-5.
Keegan Cowgill made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Michigan City is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-16 otherwise. Cowgill was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zaire McKinney, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Michigan City is 6-2 when McKinney posts two or more runs, but 1-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Galindo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Crown Point's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Michigan City, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-17.
Michigan City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crown Point hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. It's a different story for Michigan City, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Crown Point's hitters?
Everything went Crown Point's way against Michigan City in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Crown Point made off with a 15-0 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
