Recap: East Leopards vs. Springville Red Devils
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the East Leopards can now relate to. Their tough 24-0 defeat to Springville on Friday might stick with them for a while. Having soared to a lofty 33 points in the game before, East couldn't push the score so high this time.
Dameon Crosby threw for 90 yards on six of 26 attempts. Tucker McCormick was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards.
Springville was led to victory by Lisiate Valeti and Tevita Valeti. Valeti rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown, while Valeti rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Valeti is absolutely dominating the rushing yard category: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.
East now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Springville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Springville will be playing in front of their home fans against Bountiful at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bountiful is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
