St. Joseph Catholic came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 14-1 margin over the Benton Academy Raiders. That looming 14-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bruins yet this season.

Brandon Burkes made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

In other batting news, Jackson Winans was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Nick Glorioso was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

St. Joseph Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs over those games. As for Benton Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Catholic will challenge Park Place Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Benton Academy, they will square off against Manchester Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
