Baseball Recap: South Brunswick Comes Up Short

South Brunswick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Colonia Patriots. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Patriots when the teams met back in May of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

South Brunswick's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Colonia, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

South Brunswick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colonia, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 win against Scotch Plains-Fanwood on the 17th.
