After losing to Grain Valley the last time they met, Belton decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Belton Pirates snuck past the Grain Valley Eagles with a 57-53 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Belton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Campbell out in front who went 7-for-11 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Shrum, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Belton's record now sits at 9-13. As for Grain Valley, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-8.

Coming up, Belton will host Platte County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season. As for Grain Valley, they will square off against Chrisman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grain Valley is facing Chrisman at the right time seeing as Chrisman is stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
