Football Recap: Metuchen Bulldogs vs. Middlesex Bluejays
Metuchen gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 14-6 win over the Middlesex Bluejays. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row dating back to last season.
Among those leading the charge was Evan Toth, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown.
Toth wasn't the only one working in the rushing yards department: Metuchen was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in five consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Metuchen will challenge South River at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Middlesex, they will head out on the road to square off against Roselle Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
