Football Recap: Sylmar Beats Canoga Park for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Sylmar had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Canoga Park Hunters 48-24. Considering the Spartans have won three games by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Tim Tanner Jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 254 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, while also rushing for 100 yards and one TD on only five carries. A healthy portion of Tanner Jr's aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Elizeo Reyes, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Sylmar's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Canoga Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sylmar will take on rival Van Nuys at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Tanner Jr and Carlos Herrera. Meanwhile, Canoga Park is set to challenge their familiar foe Reseda at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
