After a string of five wins, Apollo's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tolleson Wolverines by a score of 4-3. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wolverines earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Jesus Beltran put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three hits, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Diego Ramos was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Apollo's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 14-5. As for Tolleson, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Apollo will host Pinnacle at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Tolleson, they will welcome Valley Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
