Paris and Pendleton County are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Greyhounds will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. Paris is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
Paris will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Bourbon County, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Greyhounds put the hurt on the Colonels with a sharp 10-3 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cameron Mays was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with seven stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dexter Leverett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Pendleton County suffered their closest loss since May 16, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Augusta by a score of 5-3.
Pendleton County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Frisch, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Frisch has hit this season. Cole Harlow was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Paris pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Pendleton County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7-1 record this season.
Pendleton County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Paris hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Pendleton County, though, as they've only averaged .178. Will they be able to contain Paris' hitters?
Paris was able to grind out a solid win over Pendleton County when the teams last played last Wednesday, winning 6-1. Do the Greyhounds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
