Soccer Recap: Pinkston Comes Up Short

Pinkston lost against North Dallas back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Pinkston Vikings fell just short of the North Dallas Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 193rd).

Pinkston's goal came courtesy of Jose Joel Rangel, who's now up to 25 this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Pinkston and nudges their season record down to 10-7-1. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-3-5 Wilmer-Hutchins (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 77.9% over those games). As for North Dallas, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-0-4.

Looking ahead, Pinkston will square off against A Plus Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Pinkston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season. As for North Dallas, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Wilmer-Hutchins at 11:30 a.m.
