Basketball Game Preview: Wagener-Salley War Eagles vs. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans

The Wagener-Salley War Eagles will take on the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with 24 losses in a row dating back to last season, Wagener-Salley turned things around against Blackville-Hilda on Friday. They walked away with a 75-62 victory over the Fighting Hawks. The War Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Horse Creek Academy 70-56 on Friday. That 14 point margin sets a new team best for the Trojans this season.

Hunter-Kinard-Tyler's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wagener-Salley, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.
